Directions to Kilmarnock RFC

From Cartha, Kilmarnock RFC is really very easy to find.
Kilmarnock RFC - Bellsland, Queen's Drive, KA1 3XF

Get on to the M77 going South (away from City Centre). Keep going out of the city into Ayrshire.
Come off the M77/A77 at the A71 junction signposted Kilmarnock. Go up the off ramp and turn right.
There is a double roundabout. Go through the first and at the next one, take the A735,
which is the third exit as you go around the roundabout and the last before
you go back onto the M77/A77 to go back up to Glasgow.

Head down this road and you will see the playing fields to your right. The right turn to get into the ground is just
through the roundabout at ASDA/B&Q, in fact it's IMMEDIATELY right.
We always have lots of fun trying to turn the bus across what is quite a busy road.

- Directions to Paisley for Minis &
Directions to East Kilbride for S1 & S2

- these are only suggestions based on looking at google maps. The Paisley ones I know because I know how to get there, the East Kilbride ones are, as I say, straight from Google.

DIRECTIONS TO PAISLEY - P4 - P7

Paisley play at Anchor Playing Fields, Ross St Paisley PA1 1TH - google map link here
If you hit directions, you'll see it gives you two options, one along Paisley Road West, into Paisley, left at the Abbey and left at A726, the "Barrhead Road" and turn 2nd left at Blackhall St. The alternative and my preferred routeis to come out of Cartha, get onto A77 going to Kilmarnock, come off at next junction Barrhead Road, go right and follow Barrhead Road all the way to its end at Nitshill, go right, taking you on to the A726 and take this road all the wway into Paisley, turning right at Blackhall St this time.

DIRECTIONS TO EAST KILBRIDE - S1 & S2

DIRECTIONS TO ALLAN GLEN'S

Location, 212 Kirkintilloch Road, Bishopbriggs, G64 2NE.

Getting to Allan Glen's from Cartha is relatively straightforward.

From Cartha, get on to the M77 & M8 going into town
(i.e. come out of club, turn left onto Dumbreck Rd and right onto M77).
Cross over Kingston Bridge and head east....

At junction 15 on the M8, i.e the A803, come off and head north towardsSprinburn & Kirkintilloch.
Just keep on this road and carry on for about 10 -15 minutes, depending on traffic, out through Springburn,
past Colston and through Bishopbriggs. Keep going through Bishopbriggs Cross on the road out to Kirkintilloch,
still on the A803. About 3/4 of a mile beyond Bishopbriggs town centre, Allan Glen's is there on the right hand
side.... you really can't miss it

GLASGOW EAST - Sunday 6th November

Glasgow East play at Barrachnie Park in Mount Vernon. Barrachnie Park is bounded on the North by Ballieston Road and in the East by Mount Vernon Avenue.

Last time we visited there was a bit of confusion on how to get there, given that the post code for Glasgow East RFC does not match that of Barrachnie Park. Easiest parking is on MountVernon Avenue, which is the Eastern boundary of the park and runs North to South between Ballieston Road and London Road

Getting there from Cartha is dead easy and quite quick. Your SATNAV may tell you to go North over the Kingston Bridge BUT DON'T. The quickest and most direct route uses the new M74 extension. Your SATNAV will be no use until you come off the M74 at Jn 2A. (Most SATNAVs haven't got the M74 and keep telling you to do a u turn...).

From Cartha, onto M77, M8 then M74. Travel to junction 2A - the old 'end' of the M74. Come off here and turn left up to the T-junction at London Road, at the lights turn right into London Rd. Travel east until you get to Mount Vernon Avenue, which is just before Mount Vernon rail station - you'll see the rail bridge crossing the road and the station in front of you, where London Road meets Hamilton Rd at a fork. Turn left into Mount Vernon Ave and travel "north" up the road until you see the park on your left. Park in Mt Vernon Avenue and enter Barrachnie Park .

There is a northern route over the Kingston Bridge, but as it caused so much confusion last time & the Southern route is so straight forward (and quick, 12-20 minutes), I'm not suggesting it.

DON'T USE THE G32 0TG postcode for your sat nav, if using a SatNav, look for Mount Vernon Avenue at Ballieston Rd.

Meantime however, our next game is against Cumbernauld on 9th October 2011, ko 12.45/13.00

here's a link to the Cumbernauld RFC location page,
and below directions supplied by Michael at Cumbernauld

  1. Head along M80 to where the auchenkilns roundabout has now been replaced by a junction. Mings restraunt is on LHS.
  2. You want to joing the A73 road which takes you to airdrie.
  3. When you leave the M80 you will reach a small roundabout, turn right ,
  4. Drive over the M80
  5. A next roundabout go straight through
  6. Follow the road for about 3/4 mile (you will pass Greenfaulds high school on the LHS and Baird memorial primary school on the RHS). Yiou then reacha small mini roundabout (before the railway bridge. here is a new build housing estate  on RHS.
  7. Turn right at this roundabout. Head up the small hill to another mini roundabout at the entrance to the housing estate.
  8. Go straight though this roundabout and the road then leads down to the rugby club.

Note - we have other youth fixtures on at the club on Sunday so it will be busy. Can I ask that the kids come as ready as possible so that we minimise the time required in the changing areas ... which we will need to coordindate with the other teams/age groups.
Hopefully 'site migration' will be finished soon, however if you have
queries or wish to let us know how you are travelling to Cumbernauld, email or phone Stephen using my details below

Apologies for the extra step - will endeavour to have the upgrade finished as soon as possible.
